Kannadasan through his songs often highlights some technical aspect of poetry elegantly. This week picked a song in which he extensively uses “எடுத்துக்காட்டு உவமை அணி”, transforming a routine love duet to artistic poetry. “உவமை அணி” is using the similarities of one object to describe another.
This duet is between a young couple who are completely in love with each other. The damsel is blind and the man blind in his love for her. This song is a conversation between them. Since the lady cannot see she asks a series of questions to her man about Mother Nature. He answers her queries mostly by asking back questions that reveal the depth of his love for her.
Picked this song for its sheer beauty and the brilliance of Kavignar. It features in the movie “ நீல மலர்கள்”. As always MSV enhances the beauty with his music. Unblemished performance of Yesudas and Vani Jayaram bring it all to life.
